About Us

Hi! My name is Plaid (that's me below on the right) and her name is Stripe. I'm almost three but Stripe is only about 1, so she can't do much yet. We're beagles and we own a dog and cat boutique named after us at 182 Wayland Avenue on the east side of Providence Rhode Island.

Me and Stripe saw this empty store front so we rented it and then came home and told Robin, (the guy we own), that we had taken the space and he had to decide what we were going to sell because we don't have thumbs and can't use a computer. Robin decided to name the new shop “Plaid & Stripe” (after his two best pals) and to sell all of the great stuff we dogs (and you cats) need and can't get at the big places like Petco. So we started talking to all of our friends (and boy do we have a lot of friends) to find out what they needed and what they wanted and then we stocked the new shop with everything from collars and leads by Up Country, Earth Dog, Mackenzie and Mascot to toys from Planet Dog and West Paw to Harnesses from Puppia and Bella Luca and books and treats from all of the best manufacturers (like Cloud Star, Ranch Rewards, Wagatha's and Beggars Banquet, We've got bowls and treat jars from Hendrickson and Melia, Prints from artist Steven Huneck and lots of stuff we don't have time to list. “Hey, give it a break Plaid and let me say something!”

This is Stripe. You should see our selection of collars and leads, IT'S HUGE! We have over 200 different collars and leads on display at any time. This is the largest selection of the most unusual designs and I can promise you that you won't find any of them at Petsmart or Petco!" This is Plaid and I'm back! Me and Stripe are always in the store working and since we get some of our best ideas from our friends, I hope you will let us know what you'd like us to carry!

All you well behaved dogs are always welcome in the shop and if you are in the area, come on in. The water bowl is always out and there is always a treat ready for all you hungry dogs!"
